The Hegemons are not an official organization or society. Hegemons are simply the most powerful mortals in the realm, and by virtue of their power, they are recognized by all individuals for the status they have achieved.

Every mortal that achieves at least level 20 and guild level 20 has the chance to become a hegemon based on their accomplishments and deeds, and this entitles them to certain benefits. For one, they are "famous." This means they are easily recognized and also that they have access to important documents. They can also send/receive tells to/from anyone.

For the purposes of PK rules, anyone who has EVER been level 20/20 for any period of time is considered a hegemon.

Hegemony System

The hegemony system comprises a set of abilities separated into two pools. The Mystical Pool and the Martial Pool. This system is only available to people level 20/20+. In order to learn these abilities, a hegemon spends points in them. Points are earned for each guild level starting at level 20 and ending at level 30 for a maximum of 11 points available to spend on abilities.

The abilities have no other prerequisite than you be level 20/20+ and that you have points invested in them. Unlike a tree, there is no path system. All abilities are available at level 20. Spending a point in an ability commits you to the ability pool to which that ability belongs, and from that point on you may only continue to spend ability points in that pool. While you gain 1 hegemony ability point per guild level, you may only spend points in a NEW or DIFFERENT ability every 2 guild levels.

Special Note

Note that the hegemony documentation reflects the statistics of your current investment in that ability. For example, the cooldown may say n/a if you have no points in it, however, someone with 6 points in it, would see a much longer duration, reflecting their investment in this ability.

The key to this system is this: You may pick from either pool, once done, you are limited only by the number of points you spend in each ability. You are not compelled to spread your points around. One hegemon may spend all their points in one ability, becoming incredibly powerful in it, while another may choose 3 abilities to focus on.
